Brighton coach Roberto De Zerbi has outlined the reasons behind the current horrific form at Brighton. The club has lost three consecutive matches in three different competitions, the UEL, Carabao and the Premier league all in one week. Where the club has conceded a total of ten goals and managing to score three goals only.

“We conceded many goals, but listen, we have to speak frankly. We were affected by Caicedo’s departure. Currently, we are playing in a different way because Carlos Baleba, who has the same characteristics as Caicedo, is not ready yet.”

The coach has now admitted that it will take a few more games for Carlos Baleba to fully fit in as a Caicedo replacement as the Brighton defence currently has been exposed as it’s now easily beatable due to lack of a number six dropping deep in between the defenders to assist in killing opponents attack as Caicedo was doing at the club.

De zerbi before the start of the league stated that he has already forgotten about Moises Caicedo and heavily attacked the player’s move to Chelsea in a negative way.

Brighton have a difficult run of fixtures coming up as they are to meet Liverpool and Manchester city in the Premier league and a UEL fixture on Thursday against Marseille.
